You know the feeling … wrinkly, tight, itchy skin. If that’s what your hands, feet, or any body part in between are feeling, then you’ve got dry skin.
There are lots of skin care products available for purchase today. Some creams contain chemicals, some are as natural as natural can be. If you find that you’ve tried every product and you’re still suffering from painfully dry skin, then you need to schedule an appointment with your doctor. Chances are good that you’ll need her to prescribe a medicated cream.
For many of us, though, the ingredients we have stocked in our kitchen pantries are perfect moisturizers for dry skin.
Milk. Warm a cup of milk. Dip a washcloth into the milk and dab onto your skin for about 5 minutes. Milk will moisturize and stop the itching.
Oil. Petroleum jelly or any commercial skin cream that has oil, instead of water, as its base will soak into your skin and do a world of good. Olive oil is also a prime moisturize.
Honey. Spreading honey over your skin may seem like a crazy thing to do. You’ll just be all sticky, right? Well, mix a little honey with olive oil first. Then spread the honey mixture over your dry skin. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Then wash it off in the steam shower or bath.
Over to you: What’s your favorite skin cream?
